Things should work!
Unfortunately that is not the case with most modern operating systems. Even today. Something simple like plugging a video camera can become hell on earth if you are not a geek and enjoy endlessly browsing forums to try to figure how this particular piece of hardware works on Linux or that other particular piece of hardware works on Windows. Mac OS X is way better at this, but it still has its nuances.
So, back to my point: As I grow older I want things to be simpler.
I have hobbies and interests and a career that allow, and sometimes require, me to roll up my sleeves and dig into the guts of everything from a build script to a thermostat replacement. And most of the time I just want things to work, too.
